Solomon Trade Processing limited was founded in June 2000 from 15 years experience of managing corporate IT and application development. Though intending to grow organically and build on our links further with associated firms and individual contractors, we employ between two and three staff and have also attempted to place interim project managers with banks.
STP's Interim Management division is built from strength in inter-departmental business processing and formed from leveraging the business knowledge built from business processing in the front, middle and back offices of investment banks to offer benefit from one department's information base to other departments wanting similar information. Doing this without re-keying data avoids data processing errors, allowing for instance non-exceptional transaction processing to automatically flow through from a company's sales force to product dispatch/settlement. This led to the company's acronym 'STP' in recognition of the principles of Straight Through Processing. (In practice, STP is only half the answer to gaining the full business benefit of data, the other half being achieved by completing the circle of data-flows back to the front office and other beneficiaries of the business data, but that's a longer story.) STP's interim IT management can help to make the most of such data throughout an organisation, though we manage other IT projects too.
Beyond forming the company's close links with other specialists providing similar and associated services in related fields to offer a rounded service, STP's next major step was branching out with a new business line in 2001 thanks to the specialist services of the founder's wife with a thriving division dedicated to providing food safety training services to the catering and hospitality sector — may we all eat happier and live longer!
